This project is called “Interactive Web” and its purpose is to transform the experience of reading a text physically to experiencing it digitally. In this project, I needed to make a website with a minimum requirement of three pages or a long page that amounts to three pages where the users can interact with my chosen texts. I chose to do my project on "The Giver" by Lois Lowry.

The first step is to choose a physical text and consider the typography, the spacing and the layout of the physical text. After finding the text, I sketched some ideas on how the text should move, change, and be responsive with interactivity in Figma. The text’s interactivity should be meaningful and enhance the experience of it. After determining the elements (e.g. colors, fonts, texture, etc.) of how the text should be experienced digitally, I created a root folder to add in original assets and create an html and css page for each page. I added in p5 sketches so the users could interact with the texts. I also created an about page so that users could know the reason why I chose the text, what I want to show, and who I am as an artist. Lastly, I needed to make our sites live and hosted in Github.
Another part of this project was to make a physical piece out of my website. My text went from being experienced physically to digitally, and from digitally to something physical again. I created a zine because I thought it would make sense to experience the text in a book, then to a screen, and finally back to a small book (zine). (2024)
